LÍTIO: ESTADOS DE EXAUSTÃO

The Portuguese edition of Lithium - States of Exhaustion is the result of the presentation of the exhibition project Compulsive Desires - Lithium Extraction and the Rebel Mountains, presented at the Galeria Municipal do Porto in 2023.

Curated by Marina Otero Verzier, the exhibition addressed the problem between extractivism and exhaustion, productivity and burn-out, with a variety of contributions. From artists to researchers to projects and activist groups, the Spanish curator sought to convey the understanding that we are all affected by climate issues, underlining the urgency of an active and collective role.

This research was materialized in book form in 2021, in English, and has now been fully translated into Portuguese, with a new introduction by Verzier and co-publication by Dafne Editora.
