No sign of what was left on the ground

Even before you enter the Galeria Municipal do Porto exhibition spaces, you’ll find a display case showing the construction process of the building that houses the Galeria Municipal do Porto and the Almeida Garrett Library.

Isabeli Santiago, assistant curator at the GMP, delved into the archive of more than 600 photographs taken by Guilherme Dantas during the construction process and presented a small selection.

As the text accompanying the images says: Fragmented like memory itself, this exhibition is just a small window, the beginning of a journey through the lesser-known history of these spaces.
