Freestanding Joys — Public Session #1

In the first public session of the Freestanding Joys‘ course organised by Pauline Curnier Jardin as part of Coletivos Pláka, the medium- and large-scale installations in which the artist projects her films — and which give the course its name — will be the central theme of the discussion.

To discuss these structures, which serve as spaces for passions within the confined realm of the museum, where stories transform into objects and objects become places, Curnier Jardin has invited Rachel Garcia. Garcia has collaborated with Curnier Jardin for over a decade on joint research concerning costumes and set designs for her performances, films, installations, and exhibitions. Also present will be Mathilde Roman, a teacher and art critic.
