Exhibition opening

For the final round of exhibitions in 2026, Galeria Municipal do Porto is presenting three new exhibitions:

Nightwood marks the institutional debut of Leonor Parda, a central figure in Porto’s young generation of artists. The exhibition brings together a group of new works in video, sculpture and sound, exploring night and darkness as conditions capable of altering perception and the relationships between people, objects and environments.

To rupture a sky with no sun marks the Portuguese debut of Basel Abbas and Ruanne Abou-Rahme, key figures in international contemporary art. Through immersive multimedia installations, the duo, based between Ramallah and New York, looks to Palestine as a territory through which to reflect on our present in crisis, sketching out possibilities for the near future.

Isabel Carvalho, a singular artist on Porto’s art scene, presents her first retrospective exhibition. Gothic Tale brings together a selection of works by the artist, who, for over twenty-five years, has developed a practice at the intersection of the visual and performing arts, literature and publishing.
