Lena Platonos

For the first time in Portugal, pianist and composer Lena Platonos — a leading figure in Greek electronic music — invites audiences to immerse themselves in her magical musical world. Since releasing her debut album Sabotage in 1981, Platonos has released and contributed to more than 15 albums, combining virtuosity and poetic expression in a unique way. In 2015, her masterpiece Gallop was re-released by Dark Entries Records, attracting the attention of the international music press and renowned DJs. FACT magazine included the album in its list of the 25 best reissues worldwide that year. In connection with the LP documentary about her life, Platonos also appeared in The Wire. More active and relevant than ever, Platonos will be joined in Porto by Savina Yannatou, Yiannis Palamidas and her long-time collaborator Stergios T. for a concert focusing on the album Gallop, as well as works from her other acclaimed albums, including Sabotage, Karyotakis: 13 Songs, Lepidoptera, Masks of the Sun, The Breaking of the Ice and Cavafy: 13 Songs”.
