Fogo Fátuo
Fogo Fátuo (will-o'-the-wisp) is a day dedicated to art in motion, across different locations in and around Galeria Municipal do Porto. It showcases a wide range of positions: from intimate acoustic performances to immersive audiovisual projects, showcasing artistic practices centred around sound, combined in a day unfolding at different times and intensities.
Bringing together artists and collectives from various geographies, it seeks to intertwine folk languages with contemporary expressions, including soundscapes linked to clubbing culture as well as psychedelic and transcendental sound explorations.

forms of the surrounding futures
forms of the surrounding futures embraces an expanded queer perspective to challenge dominant narratives, replacing them with a broad rethinking and remaking of bodies, spaces and times. By embracing different standpoints in a non-conformist affinity, the constructed characteristics of the present are questioned, promoting the emergence of multiple futures.
An ensemble of diverse polyphonic and multisensory positions is proposed, while the collective capacity to imagine and rehearse future worlds is both celebrated and fostered.

Abril Febril
In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution, Galeria Municipal do Porto organised Abril Febril, a tribute to the fervorous atmosphere of April 1974 and a reflection on its meaning in the present days.
Bringing together an eclectic selection of musical projects, Abril Febril is a celebration of freedom, of what is yet to come and of the desire for a more plural and inclusive life, uniting generations claiming a common cause: keeping alive the flame of the revolution and the ideals it represents.

Ensaios de uma Coleção – Novas Aquisições da Coleção Municipal de Arte
On April 4, the Galeria Municipal do Porto opened a new exhibition: Ensaios de uma Coleção - Novas Aquisições da Coleção Municipal de Arte. The exhibition project brought together the most recent works acquired under the Aquisições program, which since 2018 has been boosting the contemporary art branch of the Municipal Art Collection. In total, works by 38 artists and collectives will be presented.
Expanding the Collection's repertoire, this new set of pieces sought to cover a greater multiplicity of artists and practices, in a more inclusive and plural logic. The independent selection committee was made up of the artist Mauro Cerqueira, the collector Pedro Álvares Ribeiro and the curator and art historian Pedro de Llano, who considered the artistic, historical and critical value of the works presented.
Ensaios de uma Coleção will feature works by Ana Hatherly, António Manso Preto, AURA, Bruno Zhu, Carla Cruz & Ângelo Ferreira de Sousa, Carlos Mensil, Carolina Grilo Santos, Diana Policarpo & Odete, Janaína Wagner, Jiôn Kiim, João Pedro Trindade, José Almeida Pereira, Júlia Ventura, Kenny Berg B2B Ronaldo Rosas, Leonor Parda, Letícia Costelha, Maíra Mafra, Maria José Aguiar, Maria José Oliveira, Maria Miguel Rodrigues, Mariana Barrote, Miguel Leal, Paulo Pinto, Pedro Huet, Rigo 23 / Programa Espacial Autónomo Intergaláctico, Rita de Almeida Leite, Rita Senra, Rodolfo Lopes, Ruca Bourbon a.k.a.
