The NADA NOVO II FORUM continues the research into the culture of reusing architectural components, which began in 2024, with the aim of establishing itself as a public space for regular reflection on its various layers and meanings. Prompted by concerns regarding the invisibility of these practices, audiovisual formats have taken over from photography to record their movements, their actions, their voices and their time. The project is divided into three strands: research (archival research and fieldwork, centred on Porto); installation (‘sampling’ of audiovisual recordings, cross-referencing material and immaterial expressions of reuse); and conversations (a gathering at the MIRA Galleries in Campanhã).

NADA NOVO (2023) investigates the reuse of building components, from their origin to their applications in vernacular culture or contemporary architecture, whether of historical and heritage value or in self-build projects. Collectively, it explores the cultural and technical challenges this poses through collaborative artistic creations, publications, exhibitions, workshops, experimental construction, training and partnerships.
