Highlights
Shuttle is an annual programme that promotes the culture of Porto and the work of artists, authors and cultural agents based in the city internationally.
With a total budget of €100,000, the programme awards grants ranging from €1,000 to €7,500 across four categories: visual arts and curatorship, performing arts, performance and musical composition, and translation and literary and essay writing.
The competition is open on a permanent basis, with three evaluation meetings planned. For 2025, the deadlines for applications are 3 February, 19 May and 29 September.

An independent curator, writer and researcher, Ana Anacleto has been developing visual arts programmes and curatorial projects in various institutional and independent contexts, both nationally and internationally, since 2003. She has contributed to several publications in the field of art essays and has been a jury member for numerous awards, scholarships and artistic residencies. She taught on the postgraduate course in curating at FCSH-NOVA and currently teaches on the master’s degree in fine arts at ESAD.CR. She is resident curator and responsible for the tutoring programme at RAMA – artistic residencies. She was a member of the Commission for the Acquisition of Contemporary Art for the State Collection – MC and is currently a member of the Commission for the Acquisition of Contemporary Art for the EGEAC Collection – CML. She is a PhD student in Contemporary Art at the College of Arts – UC.

Mónica Carroquino is a cultural manager and curator. She is currently the director of Catapulta, a launch pad for Spanish contemporary art that was incubated at the TBA21 Foundation with the aim of becoming an independent platform supported by philanthropists. Until 2024, she was deputy director of La Casa Encendida in Madrid, where she led a transdisciplinary art programme focusing on contemporary experimental practices for over a decade.

Pedro Faro is an art critic, art historian and curator. He holds degrees in Art History from FCSH – Nova University of Lisbon and in Business Communication from the Lisbon School of Communication. From 2006 to 2011, he contributed to L+arte magazine. From 2010 to 2012, he was a visual arts consultant for the RTP2 television programme Câmara Clara. He has developed and collaborated on various activities and projects in the fields of research, curating, dissemination, criticism, writing and production in the field of contemporary art. Since its creation in 2013, he has worked at the Júlio Pomar Studio-Museum, producing and curating exhibitions and conducting research on the work of Júlio Pomar. Since January 2023, he has been deputy director of the Lisbon Municipal Galleries. From January 2017 to March 2019, he was part of the management team at Galerias Municipais de Lisboa, serving as deputy director for artistic matters. During this time, he curated and organised several exhibitions and editorial projects. He has been a member of the Portuguese section of AICA (the International Association of Art Critics) since 2009 and was part of its management team between 2012 and 2015.
