“fungo, floresta, futuros” [fungus, forest, futures] is a transdisciplinary art project that combines expanded cinema, ecological practices and technology to create an audiovisual installation in intimate dialogue with the urban forest. Plants from the site will be used in the eco-development of the film and, through electromechanical devices, their vital signs will be converted into image and sound. The work explores invisible ecologies, plant communication and the disappearance of urban forests, through a relational and ethico-affective practice that focuses on interdependent, more-than-human relationships, incorporating living materialities and new forms of intimacy with the natural world. It includes workshops, an exhibition, a publication and talks.

Juliana Julieta is a visual artist. She works across painting and experimental film, exploring the organic materiality of film stock and non-toxic development processes that enable the creation of new images. Through tactile and sensory practices, she focuses on alternative ways of constructing sensory knowledge, creating kinetic sculptures in installations that use moving images to cultivate new ways of relating to the natural world.
