SONDA is an annual programme organised by Rampa, which uses the term as a framework for research into the contemporary world, bringing together art, politics and ecology, experimental pedagogies, and decolonial and intersectional narratives, in order to challenge extractivist policies, the commodification of knowledge, and the relationship between climate justice, capitalism and coloniality against a backdrop of social polarisation and threats to democracy. It is based on an exhibition programme, a programme of public events and educational services, and a series of performances, bringing together research, exhibitions, debate and collaboration with artists, researchers, schools and the local community, in formats that observe, test and make public the processes of creation and knowledge production.

Rampa is a non-profit cultural association founded in 2018 and based in Campanhã, Porto. It organises programmes in the visual and performing arts, drawing on the city’s cosmopolitan history and its diaspora. It seeks to connect local and international creators, welcome diverse proposals and promote under-represented artists or practices overlooked by institutions.
