The programme presented consists of a regular programme of events running for one year at the Sonoscopia venue, based on six interconnected categories, each with distinct objectives. A significant part of the programme is devoted to concerts of exploratory music, forming part of the regular ‘Microvolumes’ series, which began in 2004, and the ‘No Noise’ experimental music festival, which has been held since 2015. The remaining programme includes an annual event on sound, music and noise – ‘Som Desorganizado’ – as well as a series of workshops, training sessions and sound installations.

Sonoscopia is an association for the creation, production and promotion of artistic and educational projects, focusing on the fields of experimental music, sound research and their transdisciplinary intersections. Since its foundation in 2011, it has produced over 700 events, artistic creations, educational activities and publications. It has been active in around 20 European countries, as well as in locations as far afield as the United States, Lebanon, Japan, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, Chile, Uruguay and Iraqi Kurdistan. Notable among its creations are the projects Phonambient, INsono, Phobos – Dysfunctional Robotic Orchestra, Phonopticon and Máquina Magnética. In Portugal, Sonoscopia partners with organisations such as Fábrica das Artes/CCB, the São João National Theatre, the Serralves Foundation, the Cine‐Teatro Louletano, GNRation and the Teatro de Ferro. It also has a space in Porto, with small studios equipped and set up for the conception and production of creative and scientific works, residencies and informal performances, having hosted hundreds of artists from all over the world. Sonoscopia is supported by the Portuguese Republic – Culture/Directorate-General for the Arts.
